Billpile is built to hold as little of your information as possible. The short version is that your subscriptions and bills stay on your device, and we never ask for a bank login.
What stays on your device
Every subscription and bill you add, including names, amounts, billing cycles, renewal dates, and categories, is saved in your browser’s local storage. It is never sent to us. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, it does not follow you, which is why we give you a JSON backup you control.
What we never do
We never connect to your bank or credit card accounts. We do not read your transactions. We do not sell data, because we do not have your data to sell.
Payments
If you buy the full version, payment is handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us. We receive a confirmation that a payment succeeded so we can unlock the full version on your device. We do not store your name, email, or card number.
Anonymous usage counts
We record a few anonymous events, such as when the app is opened or when someone starts a checkout, so we know whether the app is useful. These carry a random identifier for your browser and no personal information. There are no cookies and no third-party trackers.
